The
Human - Animal
Bond
Psychologists have learned what veterinarians and other
animal lovers have long known - people have the ability to
establish special relationships with animals. This is even
more apparent in one-on-one relationships, particularly those based on mutual respect and admiration.
Animals fulfill many innate human needs, not the
least of which, to be appreciated. Human -animal friendships
can be as strong as and, in some cases stronger than, our
human-to-human friendships.
Whether it is a child and his pet, a hunter and his dog,
a roper and his horse or senior with a cherished animal
companion, each brilliantly illustrates the signifigance
of the human-animal bond. This is why we so enjoy young
and aged animals of all species and why we grieve when
we lose a long time animal friend.
The Alliance Animal Clinic doctors and staff have this relationship with our four-legged friends and salute our
clients who feel the same way about their animals.
